Terms of Service
Last updated June 14, 2026
These terms are provided as a starting template and general information, not legal advice. Please have a qualified attorney review them before relying on them for your business.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Porchlight (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. What Porchlight is
Porchlight provides AI-researched, factual content reports about media (shows, movies, games, apps, YouTube channels) to help parents decide what's appropriate for their kids. Porchlight describes content factually; you, the parent, make the decision.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Porchlight is intended for use by adults, not by children.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier: one free title check, plus the monthly email digest.
- Premium: $9.99/month or $69.99/year, billed through Stripe, for unlimited checks, the phone scanner, watch-together guides, and additional digest options.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime from the billing portal in the app; access continues through the end of the current paid period.
- Prices may change with notice; changes won't affect the period you've already paid for.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no attempting to break or overload it, no scraping, no reselling reports as your own product, and no using it for any unlawful purpose.
6. Accuracy and no professional advice
Content reports are generated by AI using publicly available information and may be incomplete or out of date. Porchlight is an informational tool, not professional, legal, medical, or psychological advice. Always preview media yourself when in doubt. We don't guarantee that any report is complete or error-free.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Porchlight and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the reports. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
